In 2003,the Degree Office of the State CouncilapprovedChongqing Technology andBusinessUniversityasa master degree granting unit and in the same year the Center had a master’s degree program of regional economics. In 2010, the Center obtained a master degree program of applied economics. In 2011, the Center andSouthwestern University of Finance and Economics jointly set up the applied economics postdoctoral station. In 2012,the doctoral program with the aim of serving thecountry’s special needs —The National Strategy of Talents Cultivation Program for the Million Migrants’ Stability and Prosperity in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area— was approved by the Degree Office of the State Council. So far, the Center has formed a multi-level talent-cultivation system for masters, doctors and post doctors of applied economics. Meanwhile,the Center has actively promoted theinstitutionalization and standardizationof the management of graduate education and bravely explored the innovative cultivation mode of improving comprehensive quality of graduate students. Besides, the Center hasset up an innovation base for developing the graduates’ comprehensive quality, established various social practice bases for graduates and a long-term follow-up survey bases for the graduates’ scientific research, created the publications for graduates, and tried to construct a diversified complementary cultivation model based on tutor group plus graduate team. In 2010, graduates’EducationQualityProject was fully implemented and Regional Economics was named as national elite course. Since 2004, graduates majoring in regional economics and applied economics have published over 500 papers and participated in over 800 projects. So far, the Center has 88 graduates at school with nearly 300 outstanding graduates.
