All Colleges and Relevant Departments,

According to Chongqing Education Commission’s Notice on Application for 2014 Research Project on Municipal Higher Education Reform (YU JIAO GAO No. 8〔2014〕) and Chongqing Technology and Business University’s Regulation on Research Project regarding Educational Reform (CTBU No.201〔2012〕), our school will initiate the 2014 municipal and school-level research project application on Educational Reform. The relevant requirements are as follows:

I. Principles of Research Project Application

A batch of research projects related to major theories, hot issues, difficult problems, and key factors of education reform and development of the city and our school will be selected, aimed at in-depth studies and practices with innovation and breakthrough.

(1) Encourage Innovation. Considering the reality of higher education in Chongqing and our school, we encourage active exploration and innovation in studies from different aspects, such as theories, research methods, practical applications, achievements popularization, etc. Farsighted theories and proactive practical applications should be pursued in these projects.

(2) Emphasize Practice. The research projects should combine theoretical studies with reform practices, target to social demands, and build practical talents cultivation system. Research achievements should be highly practical and operative with great application value.

(3) Strengthen Integration. New educational research projects should be fully inheritable and can actively digest, absorb, apply, integrate, and deepen the existed educational reform achievements. Colleges are advocated to use various resources advantages, choose key problems in educational reform, and carry out interdisciplinary, trans-school and school-enterprise joint researches.

(4) Highlight Key Points. Projects with large coverage range, great promotion value, and teaching achievements prospect will be key funded. Colleges are encouraged to concentrate the advantages to study the projects that will create significant impacts on the quality of education, so as to promote the overall educational reform.

II. Contents and Fields of Research Project

(1) The general research and practice of educational reform mainly centers on common and integrated projects on the development and reform of higher education.

(2) Reform and Practice of Teaching Contents and Methods. It mainly focus on subjects such as changing education thoughts and ideas, emphasizing talents cultivation models, curriculum systems, teaching contents and relevant materials, improving teaching methods and strategies, promoting and applying educational reform plans, research achievements, educational technologies, and comprehensively promoting quality-oriented education.

(3) Reform and Practice of Teaching Management. It is to explore the teaching management system, mechanism, methods and strategies of student cultivation and teaching reform in new era, the teaching quality standards of different disciplines, as well as professional certification standards and schemes.

(4) Explore and Apply Teaching Support System. It includes the building of quality teaching resources sharing platform, laboratory practice institute, practical teaching reform, and teaching informationization.

Remarks: The applied projects lack of innovation or with low-level repetition will not be granted.

III. Requirements for Projects Application

(1) Every college should strictly organize projects application work in accordance with Chongqing Education Commission’s Notice on Application for 2014 Research Project on Municipal Higher Education Reform and Chongqing Technology and Business University’s Regulation on Research Project regarding Educational Reform. The applicant’s qualification and research grant should follow relevant requirements.

(2) All teachers and teaching administration staff of our school can apply for the project. The teachers and teaching administration staff from the joint agencies and the teaching institute off the campus can also apply for the project by joining hands with teachers, research staff and teaching administration staff of our school (Personnel from our school shall be the principal investigator).

(3) As of April 2014, those investigators who have not accomplished the municipal projects of educational reform shall not apply municipal projects and those who have not completed the school-level projects shall not apply school projects. Research on educational science theories and teaching theories shall not be deemed as educational reform projects. The projects listed in national or provincial “Quality Projects” and the projects funded by National Social Science Foundation shall not apply repeatedly. Projects applied by two or less than two researchers or with only courseware shall not be approved.

(4) We will adopt unified application and evaluation method, and set up projects in categories. All researchers need to fill in the Application for Chongqing’s Educational Reform Research Projects. Those projects that meet the requirements of municipal project shall be recommended as Chongqing’s Educational Reform Projects; otherwise they shall be listed in school-level projects. No project shall be approved in both municipal and school level. If the recommended municipal projects are not approved, they shall be treated as school-level projects. (If the principal investigator has not completed the school-level project in hand, the new applied project shall not be approved.)

IV. Other Relevant Matters

(1) Application Material. The application team shall provide the following materials:

①Application of Chongqing Educational Reform Research Project in five copies (The electronic files should be named in the form of “principal investigator’s name + project title”, for example “Zhang××-××××××);

②Project Application Summery Sheet of Higher Educational Reform, one copy;

③Each college or department should submit its application projects summery sheet and the applications to Teaching Affairs Office.

(2) Deadline. The deadline for handing in printout and electronic material is April 11, 2014(Friday). Please submit all materials to Research Department of Teaching Affairs Office (Room2003, Houde Building, Tel: 9240). All electronic version materials should be emailed to648593819@qq.com.)
